Tesla
motors the green revolution
Tesla prides itself on performance and long range of its
cars and they contributing less to carbon emissions. Tesla started out as a
small electric car company in 2007, It moved on to an integrated renewable electricity and
mobility business 10 years later.
Tesla’s corporate mission to hasten the transition
from renewable energy to energy revolution. Tesla is one of the companies who
began the revolution.
Phase 1 is to change the world by
undertaking growth in production of clean energy like sun and wind.
Phase 2 is the growth in global energy
needs is met by renewable energy sources rather than fossil fuels.
Phase 3 is clean energy, a energy mix of
gas, coal and oil (2050–2080).
Phase 4 is the end point, transforming the
global energy system to energy generated from renewable sources and this is complemented
with nuclear energy.
The world is
filled with over 1:2 cars on the roads. In 2015 the electric vehicles and
hybrids crossed the 550.000 units. But electric vehicles sales look pale in
comparison to the sale of other cars. The sale can cross the 2 million cars and
4 million by 2025 and 10 million electric vehicles in 2030 and 20 million
hybrids.
Innovations
are being carried out for better battery technology at a rapid pace particularly
in Asia. They are going for 50 GWh production capacity that is equal to 50 per
cent of the global output – consumer electronics, automotive battery capacity
and 50:80 core component of cathode materials and separators.
Germany wants
to bring in 6 million Electric Vehicles or 10 percent of all German cars. The country
is the latest, to provide electric vehicle tax credits. China has provided
subsidy of $5.6 billion. Norway and India are working to get 100 percent of
cars sold by 2030 to be electric.
